The First Theater Festival of theatrical art was created in 2014 as part of the Year of Culture in Russia and the Year of Culture in the Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous Okrug. The festival is organized annually by the Cultural and Business Center with the assistance of the Department of Culture of the Yamal-Nenets Autonomous Okrug.
The main goal of the Festival: to show the Yamal audience the most popular and famous performances that have received universal recognition, to acquaint with the work of eminent artists who have achieved wide popularity, and also to bring theatrical art to the most remote corners of Yamal.
In the first year of the project, 2 festivals took place.
"First Theater: Russian Classics and Modernity" (April 2014) and "First Theater: About the Past and the Future" (December 2014). About 7000 spectators were received by the Concert Hall of the Cultural and Business Center during the period of the Festival. This fact is the main indicator of people's interest in the formation of the cultural space of the region,
introduction to theatrical art, and gave an excellent start for the further implementation of the project.
Every year the organizers of the festival, according to the established tradition, trying to show the reflection of all facets of the life of our society, change its theme. And all this can be done thanks to the skill and talent of directors, actors, musicians, sound technicians,
costumes and all those associated with the theatrical scene. The program and theme of each festival is a kind of cross-cutting idea. So, for example, the themes of the past festivals were: "Russian classics and modernity" and "About the past and the future" - 2014, "Stories for all times" - 2015, "Just about life" - 2016, "Life and creation. 2017, "Diaries of life: North-version" - 2018, "Game in the classics" - 2019.
The First Theater always opens the curtain like the first time, while adhering to a single concept. All performances are so different at first glance, but they are all somehow connected with the themes of family, love and happiness and therefore are recommended for family viewing.
An opportunity is created for children and parents to unite "on the same wavelength" and discuss what they saw with their families. Every year, viewers will find a diverse palette of theatrical genres: from comedy to musical and dramatic performances, as well as a great opportunity to discover the theater every time they come to the concert hall,
as the finest of all arts.
2017 has become especially significant in the history of the theater festival. In order to reach the district level, the organizers decided to expand the boundaries of the "First Theater" and allowed viewers of the cities of Novy Urengoy, Noyabrsk and Gubkinsky to become a part of it.
"The first theater" -
this is a unique and significant project for the region. Over the years of the festival, thousands of people had the opportunity to enjoy the unsurpassed work of such eminent theater and film actors as Konstantin Raikin, Evgenia Dobrovolskaya, Alexander Filippenko, Valery Yaremenko, Irina Klimova, Valery Storozhik, Evgeny Grishkovets, Alexander Semchev,
Sergey Bezrukov and many others. With their famous performances, Yamal visited: the State Academic Theater named after Mossovet, State Children's Academic Musical Theater. N.I. Sats, Russian Academic Youth Theater, "Tabakerka", Moscow Provincial Theater, Mariinsky and Mikhailovsky Theaters, etc.
